작가 이상선의 개인전 《서성이는 기억》은 소노아트sonoart에서 기획한 작가의 여섯 번째 개인전입니다. 2026년의 깊어가는 가을과 함께 할 작품들이 소개될 예정입니다. 《서성이는 기억》은 이상선의 작품들이 완성되는 과정들을 생각해 보며 나온 제목입니다. 작가는 익숙한 일상을 유심히 관찰하는 사람입니다. 이러한 과정으로 제작된 작품들은 ‘추상적인 인상’을 선사 합니다. 작가의 대부분의 작품들이 동명의 제목이기도 합니다.
특별할 거 없는 우리의 일상에서 매일 보는 어떤 이미지가 기억으로 남을까요. 무수하게 많은 시각정보들 가운데 하루의 특별한 기억으로 남는 건 결국에 다름 때문일 것입니다. 어제와 달라진 하늘의 풍경이랄지, 커다란 나무의 계절감이랄지 말입니다. 누구나의 뚜렷하지 않은 기억들을 더듬어 서성거려 보려고 합니다. 이상선의 작품들을 보면서 우리의 기억들을 떠올려 보고자 합니다. 이 가을도 작품들도 서성거리기 좋은 때 이지 싶습니다.
Artist Lee Sang-sun's solo exhibition, Lingering Memories, is the artist's sixth solo exhibition curated by SONOART. This exhibition introduces works that will resonate beautifully with the deepening autumn of 2026. Lingering Memories is a title inspired by contemplating the very process through which Lee Sang-sun's artworks come to fruition. The artist is an attentive observer who closely watches the familiarities of daily life. Artworks created through this meticulous process offer a 'abstract impression.' The title also shares its name with the vast majority of the artist’s individual works.
In our ordinary daily lives, what kind of images that we encounter every day end up remaining as memories? Out of countless visual information, what ultimately lingers as a special memory of the day is, after all, due to its 'difference.' Perhaps it is the landscape of a sky that has changed from yesterday, or the shifting sense of season reflected in a grand tree. This exhibition invites you to gently trace and linger along the blurred, indistinct memories that everyone carries. Through Lee Sang-sun's artworks, we hope you can reflect upon your own memories. Both this autumn season and these artworks seem to offer the perfect moment to quietly wander and linger.
